Fantastic food experience at the creative food concept M Test Kitchen. We tried just about everything on the menu and all was good. Lots of flavor and innovation on all of the menu items and we all left happy. Ashlyn was excellent and very accommodating to our large table with 3 different generations as guests. You should know that the menu changes and the portions are small, so be prepared to share and try new things. The dining room is small and bit of an industrial feel so not the most cozy of places, although the location is good in Fenton. Nice large bar to grab a small dish and a drink.

We enjoyed a delicious Asian tapas style meal here! Every plate was very creatively executed and were bursting with flavors. They recommend 2-3 dishes per person and I think that is a very reasonable recommendation.

Food glorious food....there are restaurants trying out concepts and then there is M Test... testament to keeping it simple, personal and memorable! Chef and his team are on point with the food with each plate upping the ante ... Lobster shumai was the star and we had to go back for seconds...ending with an amazing dessert! Thank you for an amazing evening..

March 2024, stopped in with a couple friends to share plates. Was disappointed the chicken wings weren’t on the menu but the food is still amazing. Dan dan noodles are at the high end of perfectly spicy for me and well balanced flavors. The tots and cauliflower were my favorite dishes we ate. The cauliflower is super satisfying and the tots are whimsical and busy with competing but complimentary flavors. The proteins we had, duck and beef, were cooked perfect and satisfying. The dessert was a bit of a miss for me with a bit of a funk to it that would have been better for me if it was just a bit more subtle. Still love this place but definitely miss the wings. My previous review follows below… My wife and I loved this restaurant. The vibe is modern and clean. The service is attentive, helpful, and very friendly. And the food, mmmmmm We started with the Spicy Lamb Salad which is best described as bold. Lots of Szechuan peppercorns give this dish a zingy tongue numbing spice but still well balanced flavors. Delicious. Warm green beans were also great. Al dente, seasoned perfect and they took the time to remove the stringy floss that can make green beans irritating to eat. Next we had the Yaki Tori, grilled soy marinated chicken oyster muscle with garlic sauce. Folks in the know, know the oyster muscle is the absolute best bite of the chicken. If your grandma loved you, she would give you this bite of chicken when you were helping her out in the kitchen. Each whole bird has two oysters so there’s something decadent about a dish serving 12 oysters. The flavors are mild in this dish, I wish I had started with this one but I still felt Grandma’s love in this dish. :) We finished with the chicken wings. Perfect. Perfectly crispy. Perfectly salty. Perfectly sweet. Perfectly tangy. These are the Triangle’s best chicken wings. There is a nice selection of house cocktails, the M Old Fashioned was lovely. I enjoyed every part this experience.

Fun concept, and I will likely return in a different season to see how much the menu turns over - they update the menu constantly. Giving the M Test Kitchen a 4-star, especially knowing that M Sushi next door and in Durham is a top-tier 5-star experience. I think the M Test Kitchen will improve over time, but everything from the atmosphere, service, and drinks were slightly below my expectations. We had 5 dishes (3 from the "cold" part of the menu, 2 from the "hot"), which was a good amount of food for two people. Every dish was very unique! Again, for the price I would recommend M Sushi instead but I will be back to M Test Kitchen in the future. Expanding on my review for management's consideration: Atmosphere - it was a little chaotic when I first walked in. Cramped at the hostess stand, several big boxes of delivery were coming through the front door while we were standing there (is there no back door receiving area?). The host was very cordial though Service - Sitting at the bar I didn't expect world class service, but would have enjoyed a little more attention or engagement from the bar tenders. Drinks - my beer was practically room temperature. The cocktail ordered was just okay to be asking for $17
