We've tried a few things from then via take out on the past year and overall have been fairly pleased with the changes in the menu. So we decided to try dining in and see how the food was.
The service and atmosphere were both pretty nice. They had a guitarist playing by the hostess stand which lent to move ambiance and our server was very friendly and knowledgeable.
The drinks were delicious and priced well. We opted to get both the fried mushrooms and the beet appetizers and followed those up with both the grits and the apricot tempeh dishes for the main course. We split everything so that we could try all of it. All of these dishes were gluten free and vegan, which was great. The presentation of all dishes was good, however the flavor profiles were lacking in all 4 dishes.
The concepts for all of these dishes was great, but they just didn't quite get there. The flavor profiles were fairly bland, so it seems they played it too safely with the lack of spices. All of these dishes could fairly easily be punched up in the flavor department and then they'd really be worth the money. But until then, it's a bit disappointing compared to other food we've had from them previously.
***UPDATE***
Just went back for my birthday brunch and it was a much better culinary experience. The tofu scramble was both gluten free and vegan when they removed the vegan sausage.
They also had a berry crumble for dessert that was both gluten free and vegan, but I added the vegan vanilla ice cream for an added bonus. It was all delicious!!!

Our family has a wonderful time at Irregardless tonight! Our waitress Amanda was always on point, everything came out quite timely. Two of our party members are vegan and they were very happy with the selection of vegan and gluten free options. The tandoori tofu and sweet potatoes enchiladas were delicious! The shrimp sausage in the Rigatoni tasted just like regular sausage. Unfortunately, the chicken was quite dry and we needed extra dressing with the Caesar salad.

Quaint restaurant in a calm but pretty location. Our waiter and the staff were so kind. The food was delicious and great for vegan and vegetarian consumers. Be warned that the Eggplant Sichuan is spicy! The burger, sourdough bread, Caesar salad, and (especially) the tiramisu were all delicious. I would come back again.

I’ll start by saying the service was good. The food was disappointing. I had salmon which was oddly served skin side up. Is that a thing? The salmon (overcooked from my medium rare request), green beans and couple of potatoes were swimming in “ragu”. There was a wonderful performer, however, as many reviews state, it’s a loud place and you could not really hear her. And it was maybe 35-40% full. It is basically one giant open room with the only “atmosphere” would be the local art on the walls. Overall I was disappointed in Irregardless. I won’t go back.

My vegan friend loved it here so much we came twice during our visit to Raleigh. As someone with no dietary concerns, I tried several things on the menu and loved it all. This place is upscale and a good value for flavor, ambiance, and service.
